When you crawl into bed at night and snuggle up under your warm winter sheets, do you ever stop to wonder about the creepy crawlies in your mattress?

If you’ve ever had a vacuum cleaner salesman do a demonstration in your home, then you’ll know that pet hair, dust mites and all kinds of dirt is trapped in your mattress. None of this is for the faint of heart and unfortunately, it gets worse. There are also tiny little flat brown insects to be found known as bed bugs. Bed bugs are tiny parasitic insects that feed exclusively on blood!

Bed bugs are capable of surviving for long periods of time between feedings, during the day they hide seams of mattresses, box springs, bed frames, dressers, tables, cracks and crevices, behind wallpaper, electric outlets, or under any clutter or objects around a bed. Check for any blood staining on mattresses, which is also a sign of infestation.

Try this easy test at home to check for bed bugs. Run the edge of a ruler down the seam of your mattress to find the little critters. If you spot them, get on the line to your specialist cleaners to eradicate your home of them.
