According to headline crime news reports, cabinet commended the police for arresting individuals implicated in the murder of farmers and farm workers across the country.
“Cabinet supports the work of the SA police in arresting those committing heinous crimes. This includes the killing and maiming of farmers and farmworkers throughout the country. The farming community is an integral part of our economy. Crime on farms poses a threat to the safety of farmers and farmworkers and to food security,” said Minister Mthembu.
The cabinet is fast-tracking the implementation of the rural safety strategy in response to the security needs of rural communities. Mthembu urged communities to help combat crime by forming and joining local policing forums.
