The Smith Family more testimonialsA morning accident took away the life of a well-known East London physiotherapist Gerda Bence who was driving along the R72 just outside Alexandria on Monday.
The woman was travelling with three dogs of her at around 07:00 am when suddenly her vehicle went into the skid and then overturned.
The rescuers who responded to the accident had found Bence already dead in her car. Two dogs were also dead while the third one was found survived the car crash. The injured dog had been taken under a local SPCA centre’s medical supervision.
According to Port Alfred police cluster spokesperson Captain Mali Govender, Bence was heading to East London “when she lost control of her vehicle outside Alexandria”.
The details surrounding the incident are sketchy at this moment. The police have opened the case of culpable homicide.
