Kidnappers force victims to jump off bridge

    October 9, 2019

Two men were allegedly kidnapped in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday. One of them died.

According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane, the victims were allegedly kidnapped at a tavern.

The suspects then drove their victims to Cramond.

“They were allegedly forced to jump into the Umgeni River. One of the victims managed to swim across the river but his colleague disappeared. Police were called to search for the missing person,” Zwane told.

One of the victims was later found dead.

During the investigation of the case, the police officers managed to identify and locate the suspects. They are expected to make their appearance in the Pietermaritzburg magistrates’ court.
