According to police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele, the preliminary investigation indicated that the driver on a Mercedes-Benz had been stopped by a Ford Fiesta. The occupants of the latter robbed their victim of a Rolex watch.
They also tried to hijack another vehicle, a white BMW, but a shootout ensued between the owner of the BMW and the suspects.
The suspects fled the scene in their car.
