Car-jamming is the term we use to describe what happens when criminals use technology to jam the locks of your car when you use your remote to lock the doors. They essentially block the signal and gain access to your vehicle. This is commonly used at malls and in parking lots at airports and hotels so you need to be aware of the problem and take additional measures to protect yourself from car-jamming.
Protect yourself by doing these 3 simple things:

  1. Hear – Listen for the sound of your car locking. If you don’t hear it, go back and check.
  2. See– Wait and watch the car lights flash or the mirrors fold before you walk away.
  3. Touch – Physically try to open your door to ensure that it is locked and doesn’t open.

Be patient and don’t allow others to distract you.
Trust your gut feelings and stay off your phone!
