The Red Alert offices nationwide each supported a local cause for 67 minutes to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day and make a difference.
Our Cape Town office ran a soup kitchen for the homeless people around Paarden Eiland. They had long queues and managed to offer them a warm meal on another cold morning in Cape Town.
The Durban Cleaning team took part in a NPO called the Domino Foundation. The venue was the Church of the Good Sheppard (COGS). They support and help a number of charities and social responsibilities.
Our Head Office, Admin staff, Marketing and Guarding Division staff collected non-perishable foods and good second-hand clothing which they wrapped in a blanket to create ‘blessing parcels’. They drove around EL from Sunnyridge to Parkside, Milner Estate and along the Esplanade, randomly blessing someone less fortunate.
The Bloemfontein staff spent time at a pre-school in Khotsong, the heart of a very poor rural area. They played games with the kids and served up something to eat and drink afterwards.
